Nike SB x Concepts Dunk High Pro ‘Turdunken’ Shoes in Rattan, Baroque Brown and Parachute Beige. Following on from their previous Lobster Dunk Lows from 2008, Boston-based Concepts pairs with skate-centric visionaries Nike SB to celebrate the timely release of their ‘TurDunken’ sneakers. Inspired by ‘an eye to the triage of food, football and friendship’, the figurative ‘Mallard’ shoes pair inventiveness with against-the-norm aesthetics to celebrate the ageless Dunk in line with seasonal tradition. Styled with mixed-material uppers crafted from down-like quarter fabrics with laser-cut overlays replicating the brushed-back features of a mallard duck, these conceptual sneakers are designed to complement any skate or street-orientated wardrobe with ease. Textured and flat suede supply layers of additional character across the main profile, whilst Nike’s OG Zoom Air unit and iconic perforated toe-box pair comfort with circulatory purpose from first wear. The split-tone vulcanised cupsole pays homage to the mammal’s washed-orange webbed feet, whilst the shimmering iridescent-like padded tongues and the similarly styled side-wall Swooshes pay homage to the animals metallic-like glaze and iconic green-capped profile. Playfully rewritten tongue tabs showcase ‘Nike Duck Pro’ branding for a tongue-in-cheek sign off that honours Concept’s endless ode to creativity.
